Coriander? How can you not like it? It's aromatic, soapy, pungeant, adorable, clinical taste makes curries and salads sing. Blue cheese? It's tangy. I could gobble blue cheese until my poo is blue too. You're not exercising ya tastebuds. Sometimes the things you hate when you first try them become the things that you can't live without.... for me - anchovies, olives, miso and the above. Dare to Eat!

Now I know I am a FREAK !!! (Stop it) I love everything - I think - I love the taste of Coriander with a dribble of Warm Balsamic Vinegar, and Honey on warm bread.

I love Anchovies, Brussels, Chou Fleur, pineapples, chillies, anything.

OK, I do hate English Puds - They are too heavy, well I say Hate, I mean they are just too heavy, except when we visit the High Corner Inn in the New Forset, and it's snowing an dthe deer and horses are hanging around outside in the Forest.

That is very special.

I have tried coriander again and again because I have grown to love things I didnt like before, like olives, but it still tastes totally terrible to me.
Now about 'corn', in Africa we eat maize, which is just so much better than anything you can get here in the UK, does anyone know where you can get it? I have even tried Borough Market but to no avail………

Yes! So glad to hear I'm not alone in HATING (...sorry for shouting lol) fresh coriander and anything with an aniseed taste! Yippee! Dorz, what do you mean by corn? Corn on the cob? or Maize meal as in mieliepap? Polenta is very similar I've found if that is what you're referring to.

By corn, I mean maize, the stuff maize meal/mieliepap/sadza is made from. Its different to sweetcorn as its not as sweet (would you believe!) Where do you live Sannie cause if you want proper mieliepap/sadza there a lots of shops around London that sell it. Had a lot of it this summer with proper relish at all the braais we had. YUM!!

I miss green mielies... Cry I thought ahead enough to bring my own mieliemeal to Sweden! Running short of it though.

And I hate mushrooms in any shape or form, even if they try and hide as truffles. Still taste like fungus!!

Can't believe I missed this post!
I hate babysweetcorn too and the tinned stuff. On the cob is OK, but only once a year! I believe the stuff had little nutritional value and leaves the body undigested (not the baby stuff), but I could be wrong there.
Used to hate beetroot, but really like it now.
Hate melon in any shape or form and can't cope with aniseed - I'm not a dog, for God's sake!
How can anyone not like Coriander? Shock, horror! Eek
MamaChef, I can't believe you don't like chocolate, I can't live without it! Smile xx

I like to join the aniseed club - do you realise if you buy any cough medicine it always includes aniseed?! I can't remember how many bottles I choked on because I did not read the label.
Is there anybody apart from me who hates peas, mangetout and in any other disguise ?

NewKid - Wow, you are the first person I've met that also hates melon! I particularly don't like watermelon, one taste makes me feel ill. I think a bowl of dirt would taste better...not that I'd actually eat a bowl of dirt! Big Grin

Coriander is one of my most favourite herbs, I love it! I like it in cooking as well as sprinkled on the top of things like soup, the scent is divine!

I don't like tofu, I think the texture of tofu is nasty.
Other than melons and tofu, I'll try anything at least once!

alysha jane - me too! Never met anyone else who doesn't like that horrible, slimy, yukky, tasteles stuff. A bowl of it makes me ill too. Tofu's OK tho.

Sorry, have to say that I love watermelon - ice cold, in Turkey when it's hot. Newkidontheblock, you are right about corn not being digested. Tofu, what is that all about? Hate the stuff.

Haven't seen any baby sweetcorn here in France. Presume they don't eat it. I hate all the hearts and huge tongues and other 'bits' that you see here in the butchers. Reminds me too much of childhood on a farm and sheeps' heads. UGH! LOVE most other food tho'.

I agree about the original post baby sweetcorn is a bit bland when cooked, although I laugh when I think about the film 'BIG' anyone remember the scene when Tom Hanks ate the baby corn hilarious. I hate tongue, anchovies, brawn, boiled sausages (one of HO faves) but I love kidneys, liver, black pudding, hearts etc... Smile Smile
