Sorry Merv, just realised what the thread was actually about! I have recently discovered (in the past couple of weeks) that I loathe and detest Papaya - strange thing to discover but there you go. It tastes of sick to me...

No, Jaybee, I agree totally, I just didn't like to say, cos people normally look at me as if I am mad.

But I really do not like tha taste of coriander at all, can't stand it, and the only other thing I really don't like is ginger beer ( with or without alcohol content )

Yep Rustie - an anti-coriander club! Have to be honest, its one of the few things I dislike, but others are blue cheese (of ANY sort!), caraway, and marzipan!

I don't like chocolate very much. I like almost everything else.

Eggs. I hate eggs!

Anyone remember the episode of Father Ted when Mrs Doyle wanted to know what he wanted in his sandwiches, and he went off on a rant about he wanted anything but egg, only to find out that the sandwiches where all egg sandwiches...? Well that Father Ted rant exactly summed up how I feel about eggs.

Baby sweetcorn... love it raw, I can eat them like crisps.

Lemon grass urghhh - I love any kind of spicy food but I have to search Thai menus to find dishes which don`t contain lemongrass. It seems to be in everything. Little woody bits that taste of washing up liquid!

I can't stand baby sweetcorn either. It doesn't taste like the larger version. In fact it has no taste at all. If I see it in a dish I always leave it. Even in stir fries it is a waste of space!
I agree that papaya smells like sick. It always looks attractine though.
I can't stand baked beans, the Heinz variety that is.I like all beans but it is the tomato sauce they cook them in that I can't stand.

I really dislike cheese. Am I very weird or just a bit?!!! Wish I liked it though - and shellfish too. I'd love to be able to enjoy a nice big juicy prawn or scallop.

I am joining the anti coriander club, YUK, tastes like stink bugs……………
Dont like coconut either, and as I am pregnant now I have gone off cooked vegetables! I am not keen on cheese either, sometimes its ok. And as for dill……… oooh and smoked salmon, its feels like it has slime all over it! And once I dipped into truffle oil thinking it must be heaven from peoples reactions and I was nearly sick! I could go on and I am not really a fussy person!! Smile

My food hates: fish (I can just about tolerate tuna but that's all), mushrooms, cheesecake (which I haven't tried since I was little so I might like it now) and blue cheese.
Soft boiled eggs make me feel very peculiar but I don't mind actually handling eggs when separating the white from the yolk. Am I weird or what?

I can only eat cheese if it's cooked ie on toast or in a Quiche or Pizza. Even the feel of it when raw makes me feel ill.

As for Blue Cheese don't even go there!

Also I agree with Dorz what is the big fuss about Truffle anything. Ergh!!
Although chocolate truffles are ok obviously.
