When to pick ? monge tout

hey all

Well i have successfully managed to grow monge tout Smile and i am so proud and desperate to cook with my own produce but the question is when should i pick them and how ?

at the moment they are about 3 inches in lenght

Sounds like they may be ready now. Try eating a couple straight from the plant, they should be crisp and sweet. Yum Yum! Remember to keep the plants well watered.

what happens if you leave them longer to pick ?

does the flavour increase ?

Not so sure about the flavour, but you could end up with peas instead of mange tout, depends on the f1 hybrid you have, but basically the tiny peas inside the pods will grow fatter into proper peas in most cases.
