...will be featured on GFL on Thursday 3rd June with Charles Metcalfe. Any questions for him or our chef, Lotte Duncan, who will be cooking up posh picnic food? Maggie Philbin will also be on to tell us about the array of picnic hampers on the market so write in with any queries you may have!

Hi,

I have a slightly offbeat question for Lotte - does she make anything special for her cats or just feed them on regular catfood? I ask this because my Mum has two cats (Daisy and Flo) and I'm afraid they're particularly obese! I keep thinking about our neighbour's cat when I was young (Bleep) which was without doubt the fattest cat in the world but who died at a disappointingly young age!

Love the show etc. etc.

Jim

Hi Jenny,
Will wines from Jersey Be featured? we have a very good vineyard here, La Mare which makes wine, we had champagne style for Xmas and many local specialites such as Black Butter and Fudge.

then for Slim Jim
I have 4 cats, ranging from 11years to 18months and from 3kgs to 7. the youngest being the heaviest and the only ex male large but not fat, the othes are ex girls. the 11 years old eats the most and weighs 4 kgs. and is the only Siamese. the others are Bengals, so as with humans weight seems to be genetic make up and the individual.. they all eat sachet cat food, the bengs are all closely related. the native cat here is known as the Jesey Plump and makes most cats look slim. 9kgs is not unusual.

I like trying wines from all over the world and really like Chilean and Argentinian wines, (red or white) but I have never tried any English wines. I prefer dry wines and wondered if Charles could recommend an English dry wine. I would also like to ask whether wines with screw tops are as good as wines with corks. I tend to stay away from wines screw tops, only because I imagine them to be inferior, which may not necessarily be the case.
Thanks
Lalita
PS. Love the show, it's excellent.

Back to simple old Nick again :)

Wines with Screw caps are better, as they don't make the wine go off. But unfortunately the dream is still of wines with corks.

I couldn't agree more Nick, we have got to get over this snobbery about corks, screw tops or the plastic corks are much better, you almost never get a bad wine with them!

Hi Slim Jim

No I don't make anything special for my cats.........I am afraid that they are on light fat cat food! Honey....especially after she broke my butter dish the other day trying to steal the butter....which I hasten to add, she managed!!!

Lotte.
