What a fab idea Donald! Let's hope they can come up with some suggestions. Anyone know any decent drinking games to go with this? Jen?

Thanks for the warning Donald, i shall make other arrangements!!!! But if you have to watch it then sausages, cheese and bread cover most of those countries. So butties by the boat load and beer with ice to cover the eastern european countries and vodka jelly for russia etc. Turkey and spain has to be olives. have a great time perhaps getting drunk is the way to go!!! Terry****an seems to prefer this method.

lol. Mozart chocolates were all I could think of from Austria they are famous and are wrapped in gold paper with a picture of mozart on the outside all the shops in Vienna have them piled high.

The potatoes are new potatoes so finger size caramelized in a frying pan. Then split slightly with a cross and something nice tucked inside well more like on top. Quite nice on their own.

Of course as we know spare ribs cooked in the oven while making any thick sauce on the top for a few minutes and then poured over the ribs before popping them back in the oven are great and easy to make. But not if you are a fish eater!

Could not think of Romania though and I have been there too!

Hi Donald

Heres a recipe for the Pierogi if you're interested, it came from a colleague at work who is married to a Polish guy. Debbie

Cheese & Potato Pierogi

Ingredients
4 large potatoes
2 cups of flour
1 cup cottage/cream cheese (alternative is Saurkraut)
1 egg
salt
3 tbsp butter
Method:
1. Clean and peel the potatoes.
2. Cook the potatoes until soft then mash.
3. Meanwhile, combine flour, egg and a pinch of salt
4. Roll out the pastry on a floured surface – no thicker than 1 inch)
5. When the potatoes have cooled, mix with the cheese/sauerkraut.
6. Cut out shapes in the pastry using a cake/pastry cutter.
7. Fill with the potato and cheese mix.
8. Fold and pinch closed with fingers.
9. Drop into boiling salted water for approximately 2 minutes. (Can also be fried if crispy texture is preferred).
10. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain.
Serve immediately.
