Did I imagine a recipe on todays show, with Lamb shanks and some kind of pasta that looked like rice ? have searched this site for recipe but cannot find - would like to make on sunday.

Yes that is a type of greek pasta and delicious it is too.
Not easy to find, I usually bring some back with me from Crete.

Forgot the most important thing, it is called Orzo

It's also very common in Italian cooking so you might be able to find it in an Italian Deli.

can someone please give me the name of the recipe i have missed the programme all week babysitting,i have two pkts of orzo in the cupboard and lamb shanks in the freezer

There are 5 Lamb Shank recipes on this site, although none include Orzo. Could you not just cook the Orzo as per packet instructions and perhaps add herbs which would compliment the Lamb????????

The Orzo would be cooked as part of the whole dish, not as a side dish.

Just a suggestion, but if the Orzo takes say 15 minutes to cook, could it not be added to the pot/casserole 15 minutes before the end of cooking time?

hi, the dish is called yiouvetsi, the programme was this morning and the recipe is still on the thismoring web site , i just checked, as I also wanted to try it (love greek food!)
