I have to say I'm not keen on the new layout, too complicated, and nowhere to find out about the presenters, there used to be a "button" for presenters. Also don't like the new address - it is much easier to say UKFood.tv

The change in name in a network decision Jean, it is not just UK TV Food, it is UK TV Gold, UK TV History, Bright Ideas, Documentary, all of the UK TV network.

But not sure what you mean about a presenters button, sorry.

If you want to see who presents each show then just go to the home page, or What's on TV, then click on GFL or GFB in browse by series, and select the date of the show you want.

Hi Jean38

We haven't made any changes to the website.

Presenter info is in What's on TV where it's always been.

I hope this helps.

All the best,

Ian

I'll give these suggestions a try, thanks for your help.
I was hoping to find out about Jo Monroe, her face was very familiar but I couldn't place where from.

I still cannot find anything about Jo Monroe, does no-one know what else she does?

As a matter of interest I suggest someone talks to the network as people STILL can't get the web address right - IT DOESN'T WORK!!!! and they should be told, or are we - the people who pay to watch - have to put up with this stupidity.

Sorry to disagree but it does work, and I really don't see the problem, or any stupidity.

lillysmum, you are on the site now, why not add it to your favourites, then all you have to do is click on it to get back here next time.

Jo Monroe, was in a series called Angels, also on Esther Ransen's show.

Hi Lellysmum,

The decision to change the name of UK Food to UKTV Food was made by the network.

Presenters will get the web address right eventually. I guess it must be quite difficult for them, given they've been saying something else for quite some time.

All the best,

Ian

Ian thank you for your very civilised reply, I do understand that the decision was not yours to make re the name and you are right time will help to get it right but talking to my colleagues and friends we all have difficulty in saying it too and the general concensus is that the people responsible for the naming did not give enough thought to it - despite the comments made by Rustie who can't even get MY name right! I do however thank her for the information re Jo Monroe.

I apologise for my typing error of your name lellysmum, I am quite often called Rusty, (amongst other things) but glad I could help with the info on Jo Monroe.

Now Rusty who would ever get your name wrong!

Lellsum is right of course it is a mouthful and all to bring them all in line with each other as if UKFoodies are interested in UKHistory impossible thought.

Some of cannot spell and may actually have problems typing so you are right about the name change although they would argue that they have found the general concensus is in their favour. After al,l they have money at stake.

Anyway who cares the old name works still and that is what I click on with

totally agree with top comment - there used to be on the home page, when you scrolled down towards the bottom of the page an option to view info on recipes via the shows, especially for the daily Good Food Live / Bites programs - now you just get taken to the list of recipes and no way of knowing if they are for today etc.........or if you can it's not obvious.

eva1 uk, all you need do, is when on the home page, scroll down to browse by series, then click on GFL or GFB and you can then select any episode of the show you like and see all the details.

You can then click on links within that, to go to the recipes etc.

Smile

Rustie, You do ask for comments but do you actually do anything if people voice any opinions or are we wasting our time?
It does seem as if you (UKFood) just come back with complacent remarks with no obvious intention of doing anything. We never get to seen any voting on what we would prefer, so why bother asking us?
I know I am not wrong about being able to find info on the day's people because I used to find a button (or link, or something) which gave us the info on the presenter, chefs, and guests of the day, something we no longer get. I have asked my friends and they also remember being able to find this information (though I have to say they cannot be sure how they found it) maybe you just don't give it anymore - from where ever it was.

lellysmum, I am not UK TV Food, I do not work for them, so I can't get anything changed. I am just like you a fellow poster, entitled to an olpinion, but I do know my way round the website, so that is why I try to help.

lellysmum, what are you getting so uptight about? I have only been using the internet since the beginning of April this year and the first site I logged on to was this one. I too had a bit of difficulty finding my way around and sometimes got a bit frustrated, but I made a point of reading the majority of the posts and picked up many pointers on getting around this site and the internet in general. I would add that a great many of the helpful tips came from Rustie.
I think half the fun of using the internet is clicking and googling for yourself instead of always asking others to do this for you. It's amazing what you will learn. Don't get me wrong, if I read something on this site and I think I may be able to help I am only too happy to click and google for information to pass on.
So lellysmum, chill out, keep clicking, and enjoy yourself.

Livewire you sound like the gorgeous bunny on the cadburys caramel advert!!!!! happy clicking, and lellysmum have you got something in for Rustie ?, This is the second time youve had a go, she is only trying to be helpful and like me is not employed by UK food, you will see who is because its stated in the login name of the person posting like Ian - UKfood earlier in this thread. Come on we are all trying to be freindly and have a laugh. And for the record, ive never had a bad response from UK food directly either. If you do feel strongly about this issue email them direct in the "contact us" area. They are always helpful. Luv H

Sorry Rustie, you have been VERY helpful and I wasn't having a go at you personally, I assumed (I know one shouldn't assume!) that you were UKFood.

Livewire in answer to your question I am not uptight but I have worked with computers for a good few years now and as such I am very much aware that programmes, spreadsheets, databases and sites are supposed to be "user friendly" for the benefit of those who are not quite so clever as you obviously are, and I have created (as have hundreds of others) some of these for other people to use!! and I am not showing off just explaining why I made the comments I did.

Hello lellymum, have you sent an email to UKfood themselves as too why they use this particular format. It may be more helpfull to you as we obviously arent able to shed any light on it to your satisfaction. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to find something or it being unnecesarily difficult or long winded. Its my biggest pet hate along with people who have a go at someone when they dont know them or assume an awful lot. Let us know what the outcome is will you, cheers H

Re new address. I love Jenni Barnet but the way she gives out the web address these days really irritates me - why does she have that silly inflection and wave her arm about? Just tell it like it is Jenni.

I love Jenni but I think she needs to be careful I think she is becoming another Ainsley (has to be the centre of attention) she will lose her fans - and I am one of them - if she continues to interrupt the chefs when they are explaining or demonstrating which after all is what the programme is really all about.

We actually like to see what the chefs are preparing.

Love you Jenni but please calm down
