I recently purchased some organic salmon from a well known supermarket (more reasons to shop etc).
The salmon was very pale pink and appeared fatty. Could this organic salmon be farmed (it did not say on the packaging) A lot of fat drained out of the salmon during cooking.

I would presume that it is farmed, as to be classed as organic there must have been some control over what the fish was fed etc, this would be impossible in wild salmon as the have free range of the ocean/river, or am I being a little too naive ?????

I thought the same .... one actually doesn't like to think too much about what is in the sea in terms of pesticides, hormones etc.

Wild salmon is enormously expensive and you'd know from the price. It was fatty because farmed fish often swim in ponds where they don't have to swim against river currents and stay lean
