Hi Judith, Im in work at the moment so cant give you a recipe, but if my memory seves me correct, I think a kashmiri masala is a lamb based curry,

If you like, in the morning I will just check and then post you a recipe, I think you would follow my ingredients for a tikka masala, but theres no cream, lemon and mint jelly.

Just check my recipe its called. MY OWN CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA, if you have the ingredients for that then your half way there, but I will check this recipe out for you tomorow.

Take care Andy.

Have you looked at www.reshmamartin.com web site. she is a cook on GFL and has an admirable website that I am a big fan of. If she doesn't show the recipe in her recipe file, then you can contact her and ask her. She is so helpful, I know she wouldn't mind.

Hi, I'm a little confused because the recipe only requires 5ml of kashmiri masala. I was thinking that it might be a mixture of spices. I think we will have to go back to the teacher for clarification.

Thank you all for your help.

Hi Judith,

you're are right in that it is a blend of spices, similar to Garam Masala. There are 2 different Kashmiri blends one mild and one hot. Let me know via my site what type of dish you daughter is cooking, and I'll send you the recipe to make you're own. Or maybe where you can buy it.

Reshma Smile

Hi judith, sorry my mistake, masala spice mixture you want, I made an error there, there is a curry called kashmiri masala, made with lamb but its the masala you want, hope this is of use to you as this is a standard kashmiri masala according to my refrence book so here it is:

4 cinnamon stick broken up
the seeds from a cup of cardamom pods
1/4 cup of black pepper corns
1/2 cup of black cumin seeds
1/4 cup of whole cloves
1/2 grated nutmeg
1/2 cup of fennel seeds

you now need to dry roast these in a heavy bottom pan, then grind into a powder.

Thats it, hope this helps you.

Take care Andy.
