Hi noush and welcome! And I am afraid you are right - that has been a lot of discussion about Tamasin and her hair tossing. It caused quite a heated debate a few months ago. If you search on Tamsin Day Lewis using the search bar above you will see what I mean.

Smile

But it is only pretend food isnt it. After all she often gets the names mixed but.
Mind you you have a point after all look at her lovely new kitchen. With that sort of money you think she could by a pair of scissors for her hair. But my advise is switch her off.

Ahhh Tamasin and her hair, again, lots of discussion on the site, but the main point is that in her own kitchen she can do what she wants, she does not need any hygiene certifcate. Cooking for the general public is a totally different matter.

But it does get me thinking, so anyone eating or thinking of eating at the moment please look away.

The way I see it is that if you got one of Tamasins long hairs in you food you would probably know about it, not nice maybe but you would notice.

Now I think about all the cooks and chefs with short hair, no need to tie it back or wear a hat, so short hairs in the food, maybe won't notice them when you are eating, oh then of course there are beards and moustaches, eyebrows, eyelashes, nose hair along with anything that may be attatched, and how about a bit of dandruff for added texture?

So what about suggestions to prevent all of these hairs from contaminating our food, not quite as easy as tying back your own hair in your own kitchen.

Probably for 1p she could buy a rubber band and get rid of her awful looking hair. May cost a little more to get rid of her arrogance. Wh o is she anyway?

Never mind her hair how about them jeans she ALWAYS wears, them rips are not a fashion statement its where she tears them trying to pull them on as they obviously don't fit.

Nice kitchen but that nuclear reactor for an oven she has is a bit much.

Gary20 I'm so glad I'm not the only one to notice those "close" fitting jeans.

I though the Tamsin's weekend programmes where years old- juding by the fashion statements any way. They must be because a few weeks ago I saw a progamme in the old kitchen with her daughter who looked about 10 years old and just this weekend there she was again cooking with mum for her uni friends? How long does it take to build a new kitchen-Im gettign mine revamped shortly and Im planning for it to take 2/3 weeks max!

Who cares if there is hair in the food and she licks her fingers! It's only her and her awful friends who have to eat it!

She does seem to have done quite well out of it judging by the state of the home, kitchen and equipment in the first series and present day!

excellent points, everyone! her hair annoys me too, get a band...the jeans are just as bad, buy a new pair instead of your 100th mezzaluna (i could conjure up a horror flick out of the images of her with those!). I really do like her programme but did any of you notice how RUDE and BOSSY she was to her kids this w/e? i kind of felt sorry for them.

well i would just like to say to everyone since when could you all afford to be so pass remarkable i would love to see he state of you in your kithchens. Tamsin is a hero and she is carefree cook with a carefree spirit and why should she conform to be a straight laced Delia ! Her food is insirapirational and her methods so simple and yet remarable she is the best cook I have ever seen she is so passionate about food and is so easy going not like those preppy chef types up there own backside so Tamsin keep it up girl and thanks for your wonderful shows we all love you. And as for the rest of you if your so worried about her hair may be you should do a show from you kitchen to show us how perfect you all are! Roll Eyes

Big Grin ROFL!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh dear...this thread is so entertaining - I have been trying not to laugh out loud and wake up my 18 month old! Between the hair and jeans and nuclear reactor comments I have been sat here with my hand clapped over my mouth to stifle the guffaws. lol

However, horrible hair issues aside, I like Tamsin's cooking, enjoyed her progs and am very envious of her kitchen - let's face it the previous one she had was a dump - you have to give it to her for not being bothered about showing it to the nation on TV! The only time she annoys me is when she goes OTT and all crawly when she is talking to the producers of organic chickens or veggies or whatever and when she makes out £18 for a chicken is "normal". It might be to you Tamsin Telly Cook - but not to the rest of us. Wink

i really like tamasin and her food, i would also love her kitchen Cheeky

Tamasin has 3 children, miranda, harry and charissa, so the youngest daughter was cooking the sunday lunch, whereas miranda has written her own cookery book for students now.
I like her passion for organic in season and local foods, yes she needs a haircut, but whos perfect ?

What on earth does it matter what Tamsin's hair is like? How mean people are to be so derogatory. It's Tamsin's food and recipes that matter. She is a brilliant and talented cook and food writer. I've been using her recipes for years - they never let me down. Smile

Hello, I'm new to this board. I know this thread was started ages ago but I just wanted to add how great Tamsin's books are. Her recipes never fail and I often go back to her when other cookbooks have let me down (Jamie Oliver's Nan Lemon Drizzle Cake, yes you know you don't rise!)

And if I had Tamsin's hair and figure I cook in Lady Godiva mode (minus the horse, unless the recipe required one) Wink

I would love to see Tamasin do another series. From the posts I have read I think Tamasin would be well advised to do something with her hair though. But would she listen ? I don't know Frown
