This may sound rather silly, but I've just been into the My UK Food section, saw the Browse/Edit recipebox, etc but the option isn't available. Is it just me? Have I omitted to do something? This is the first chat room(?) I've ever been to.

I don't think that is a silly question at all Eves - it took me ages to work out My UK Food and I am sure I am not using it properly. Anyway, I think that you need to have chosen some recipes and placed them under My UK Food before that option is then made available - therefore you can then Browse/Edit what you have chosen. Does that make sense? So, go to recipes, see if there are ones that you would like to keep and try/print out sometime and click on the link at the top right hand side of the recipe that says something like save to My UK Food. You should then be able to access the Browse/Edit section.

Oh! I did not know that!! I though it did not show when you do not log in. Ah well you are never too old...

Keep trying Eves we all do.

Thanks Georgie. It worked. Now at least I don't have to try and find a recipe that I've printed to try at a later date, to then find that I can't find it! I saw James Martin doing his biscotti a while ago and thought it looked good. I've now saved it to my recipe box.

If anyone's interested, The Book People are having their January sales. Just been there and got a few books that I've been thinking about but never got round to buying, but now that it's reduced.... well, I had to buy them of course.

Georgie thats brilliant, thanks for explaining it. I spent ages filling mine up yesterday. Could you please tell me how to put in a recipe someone posts? ie one is coming up for chilli jam which is of interest to me. I haven't a clue how to do this cut and paste thing though. Incidentally, from what you said I think I live quite near you, in the same county as Lotte.

Georgie, sorry about this but I can't seem to delete a recipe that I didn't want to keep. I checked the relevant box and then tried to delete it, but it doesn't want to be deleted. Have you any ideas?

Hi Gaye and Eves - I am really not the expert, I will email Ian Fenn (who produces this website) and get him to answer your queries.

Gaye, I live in Oxfordshire but I think Lotte said she lives in Bucks - which county are you?

Thanks Georgie, I am in Bucks but its not far to Oxfordshire on the borders, 10 mins on the M40.

I did email Ian but not sure he is in work today so may have to wait until Monday for replies.

Gaye, I am about 30 mins from the M40 - just 10 miles west of Oxford. Do you have any good Farmer's Markets around your way? Our one is not very good at all - the produce is good just not enough choice.

Don't worry about the computer query Georgie.
Have you tried Thame Farmers' Market? I haven't but have been told it is good. The ordinary one isn't bad on a Tuesday and though a sleepy place it has a brilliant bakery, owned by an ex Harrods baker and superb butcher.

I have lots of Farmers' Markets within a stones throw of me Marlow, Beaconsfield, High Wycombe town, Prestwood and on Sunday in Maidenhead but they are never consistently good because not all the same people turn up each time. I think they are all a bit far for you too.

Not sure about Thame or Beaconsfield but High Wycombe and Marlow are not far - about a 50 min drive on a good run. Sounds a lot but of course there is John Lewis and Asda at Junction 4 of M40 near High Wycombe... I hear my credit card wimpering...

We do have extremely good Farm Shops near us that service us well though - but it would be nice to have more choice.

The Marlow one is better than HW but Georgie Thame is 15 mins nearer towards you off the M40, thats why I suggested it. There is an italian deli there too but it can be expensive.
Although I love the idea of going I sometimes regret the time spent. Have you ever been to Borough Market? Its worth a day trip just for the expereince, trouble is carrying it if you go on the train.

Experimented with My UK Food and I can't remove recipes either, but I think there are more changes being made to the site next week so it may be ok after that. Smile

I've tried to delete recipes too without success. Oh no, not more changes? Didn't the last upgrade do more harm than good? Good luck Ian!

Well, well.....Georgie and Gaye, local ladies!!!

Thame is a fantastic market town......there is a Farmers Market tomorrow (tues) and this coincides with the ordinary tuesday market.

Gaye is absolutely right about the foodie shops, there are loads of them, I get my meat from Clays butchers, he supports my demonstrations. The baker, Italian shop, deli are fab. It is a great little town. Do make the effort to go there......

It is a shame, but so many market towns these days are losing their identity and becoming just clones....however Thame still seems to be doing the right thing and there is a huge diversity of shops. www.thame.net will tell you more....

Can you tell, I like it!!???

Well, you've sold me on it! Thank you for the web address, will go have a look. Hopefully it will also have the market days/times on it too.

Many thanks!
