My absolute fave is Brian Turner. I would love for him to cook me a meal some time, bet it would be great.

I think this time I agree with you Rosti, I forgot about Gary Rhodes, but Galton has always got that lost /miserable look on his face, he is obviously not up to telly cooking and should leave it alone. Roll Eyes

Just to change the subject a bit, as it is getting too out of hand, did anyone see Galton last night. We've got a whole week of him, the most boring chef of the lot! They obviously can't afford the good ones!! Angry

Why cant you have a different chef each day to make it more interesting. You know, some of the usuals who used to appear on GFL. You never know it may make people watch this awful programme - not!

Put some more life into the thing and stop having these awful cook-offs and knife skills, etc. Absolute waste of time. Big Grin

Think I will go and prepare myself some lunch now, upmarket of course and with the best produce you can get!! Have finished my work so I can go and sit and watch TV (at lunchtime too!) although as has been said, its not the same any more. Will have to wait for Daily Cooks with AWT, after Bergerac of course, anything is better than MK. Blurgh

Looks like this board is causing a stir!! Its Tickedoff's first post. Any other newcomers want a go. Where have you been Ticked?? And yes. Bring back Jeni. Get rid of Tana, Matt and the others and give us something good. Mad

Thanks Anne, and sorry to hear about your illness. Must be awful not being able to cook as you would like. People should think before making misstatements like that I feel.

Don't mean to be ignorant Paddy, but who at where and what and why?

I think you should let us know where your restaurant is and we can then all perhaps try it!! What about a copy of your menu then?

We all love fresh food well cooked as you say, but it was GFL who gave us that knowledge a long time ago. We don't need these boring little upstarts to now come along now with Waitrose trailing behind and tell us.

Paddy - "Its the produce they use". How do we know where they get the produce from? It is not shown on MK where they actually buy the produce from is it? And the only reason we watch food programmes is for new and better recipes don't you think?

Just because your feathers have been ruffled, you don't have to be so childish about all this do you?? We are trying to put over some very prudent points here about MK and you are definitely not helping!!

If the powers that be just take in what is said here they may be able to turn round a dire programme and make something of it, but first of all they need some new presenters with a bit of flair, not waxwork dummies!

Wow - getting VERY ruffled indeed!!! Just how Mr Ramsay would get don't you think. Paddy J only started posting in April - very strange is that not??? Interlopers me thinks as well.

I watched part of MK last night just to find rabbit stew being cooked TWICE. What's the point. Why can't they cook different and better things ONCE. And that stupid woman in the mac in the market makes my blood boil!!

Come on UKTV Food surely you can do better than this absolute TOSH.

Paddy J and Rosti need their brains tested I think. Angry

Just watched some of tonite's MK - how to make a trifle - and how to spend 5 minutes talking about it. WHAT A LOAD OF TWADDLE!!! We are not all morons, as I have said before, bring back some good cookery like GFL, we all watched that and enjoyed it. TR is absolutely awful. Poor Matt, he must feel like a great idiot with her as a side-kick. COME ON UKTV FOOD, DO SOMETHING PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ!!!!

Did anyone notice Will from last night with the flowery apron cooking pancakes - well he was on again tonite!! Getting short of studio audience I expect. And as for Tana, not all of us can afford crab salad with champagne for a girlie get together. Not so posh please, we are not all rolling in it! Wink

Did anyone notice tonite's prog, where Will from last night with the flowery apron and making pancakes, was in the audience again tonite. Are they getting short of people to attend? Wink

Just watched the tail-end of MK and oh my God - that poor bloke Will having to wear that flowery apron!!! How to cook a pancake - come on guys, we are not all morons for goodness sake. And yes CaroleJ I watched Daily Cooks today (and for the past 2 weeks) and hands down it beats this load of rubbish. Yet another prime time viewer lost. Roll Eyes

What a ridiculous rant. I've never read so much rubbish. Come on Billy Boy surely you can do better than that. Poor old AWT, if it wasn't for him and many others like him you wouldn't have foody programmes. Give him a break just because he smokes huh!!!

What is a "real foody" anyhow Rosti? Surely anyone who likes good food and watching GOOD food programmes might be in there somewhere!!

Reg - good rant - FISH AND CHIPS - that's exactly what I thought. I'd rather go to the chippy myself. If they can't bring us anything more interesting like GFL did, then it is not worth watching this awful programme. I'm going to stick to AWT and Daily/Saturday Cooks, at least you get a variety of GOOD chefs!!! Roll Eyes

All I want to say is FISH AND CHIPS!!! Can't you be more adventurous than that?

I think I am going to stick to Daily/Saturday Cooks with AWT - much better programme altogether. Seems that ITV has it at the moment, so come on BBC pull your socks up and get rid of the MK drivel and give us something decent to watch. Roll Eyes

What a very disappointing programme AGAIN!!! Does Parker Bowles even own a hair comb?? I feel as if I am watching my little brother and my grandad (Fort). Can't you teach us a few better recipes, GFL taught us how to make pies and stews, etc, in the first few years. We want PROPER recipes. Please bring back the wonderful chefs who were on GFL, who know how to cook. This tat is absolutely awful. Roll Eyes
