I've found that UKTV FOOD is hardly on in my house, MK seems to have killed my love for the channel, I still love Barefoot though and will make an effort to watch her (unless it's a flipping repeat) Mad I am enjoying the daily cooks challenge on ITV at the moment although they go though the recipes a bit fast.
it could just be wishful thinking but I heard the voice over chappy saying that in the "run up to the last MK" this could mean it's the season fanarly or it will not return, I hope for the latter personally.

I watched an "old" Saturday Kitchen a few weeks ago when AWT used to present it he had Rick Stein as a guest now them two had a chemistry -- they should produce a show with them two it was very comical AND in tune with the two fat ladies come on UKTV FOOD pull your socks up!!!! Wink

Right then Jencatcar and "the fat one" (i'm sure your not) please try to take a breath or two... TVFoodie why help towards the viewing figures of MK? IF YOU DON'T LIKE MK DON'T WATCH IT!!

Dear God I think the majority of us agree that MK is bad and that the departure of Tara is progress but if we could only get rid of TPB etc Big Grin

Oh your a brave one Chipster (bring up a thread on GFL), Many of us loved GFL and have differing opinions of MK, but alas GFL is not to return by all accounts unless the fat cats realise they've made a monumental mistake and bring her back Cry

She is on LBC radio 1-4 weekdays sky channel 0177, but I don't think she'll ever return to UKTV FOOD Frown

Many of us miss GFL and the entertainment of Jeni, Unfortunatly our woes are falling on deaf ears,

You can still check out Jeni on her blog and she has a radio show weekly on LBC (sky channel 0177)

I am well known for my hate of MK, I've been very outspoken about it's IMHO Floors!!! it's simply crap!!

I've had to resort to flipping ready steady cook on the Beeb for anything daily and not repeated!! Mad Frown Cry

if you click on the recipes tab 6 lines up from Message Boards, along the top there is a section that says "watch it, cook it" screen UKTV Video, then just select a recipe you want to watch and enjoy,,

You sound like me Desi 1 -- you like easy recipes that impress, and the ingredients are easily excessable Smile

Good Luck Hug

in that case is it really the Value goods that should go into 101?? surely the premium items should they are not charging resonable prices??

I used to argue "why pay more for organic when clearly the farmer/producer is saving a packet on not buying pestersides etc, then I was informed that the organic farmer/producer could not grow as much or lost some crops because they couldn't use pestersides so they had to charge a higher rate to the consumer to make up for this???

Has it really been that long??

I don't know if you can knock value ranges, quite often they win in the taste tests?? Also I have heard that they are simply packaged differently and are made at the same factory etc

Heres a big one "anything that isn't FREE RANGE" Mad

you can even WATCH some of the GFL recipes live from the show if you require abit more then scripted notes, the quality is not fab but it sure brings back memories of back in the day Cry

Anything premade e.g. frozen mash, frozen Yorkies, Frozen Stuffing you know the packaging has a dear old lady on it Aunt B*******,

Oh and flipping Ice cubes (how can anyone charge for frozen water?)

Oh and MK could turn itself inside out and fold like space into room 101 Wink

Vicious Ha that's a good one (does vicious mean a Mk Loather?) No? then I am not vicious I merely stick up for my opinion!!!!

Rosti said she was returning to work either this week or last maybe that is why we havn't heard her fantastic/supportive/helpful posts for a while

I am quite enjoying "A Taste of my Life" Nigel is such a lovely bloke.. He seems to ask all the right questions and make the quests fell very welcome (what a talent so rarely seen on UKTV FOOD)
