Hi Ken. I totally agree with you that there are other channels to watch and I have always agreed that if people aren't happy with something then they shouldn't watch it. I don't watch MK because it winds me up. But the point is UKTVFOOD used to be the best cookery channel to watch because of Jenny and CO. and lots of people including myself miss it, and cannot understand why it was axed. Especially if the powers that be thought that MK would better it.

Hi Kylerhea.

I don't think they could bring back Jeni as that would mean accepting they were wrong to end GFL and admit MK is rubbish. They can't even answer questions posted on this thread. I miss a good, entertaining food show with a great presenter. Will just have to wait until someone else has a good idea and creates a show worth watching. Congratulations to GFL for winning the award for best show last year.

Hi Billy2Blues. That sounds like a very good idea to me. It is something I have thought would go down well but never thought to mention it. It would also be interesting for people just to pick up recipes and learn about ingredients even if they didn't want to follow the course. Perhaps UKTVFOOD will think about it. Smile

I have made this recipe quite a few times and I find it delicious. Since I have been watching calorie intake etc. I have made it without the cream and dry fried the croutons and I think it works very well without losing flavour and taste. And then obviously it can be frozen at the end without any problem.

Hi Cheese obsessive. Can you tell me the address of Jenni's blog I would like to give it a whirl. I'm getting withdrawal symptoms not seeing and hearing from her for a while.

I am so dissapointed with Market Kitchen. I have watched 3 programmes so far. I have found it very very basic. Fish pies, cottage pies. Anyone who was a fan of GFL will be able to cook most of these dishes with their eyes closed. We have Delia's how to cook for people who need to know how to cook simple meals, and learn the basics. I have found the presenters very amateurish, and the only interest I have is to see if its going to get better. I would like to know why GFL went and why we couldn't have it back as well as MK. I think whoever is in charge has made a very poor decision in ending GFL. Frown

Thanks very much. I am sure you are right about the cornflour. I will take the slower route in future. Embarrassed

Hi there. I often make cheese leeks or cauliflour cheese. I make the sauce with:- Cornflour, milk, mustard, and then flavour with lemon juice, and cheese (cheddar and parmesan), salt & pepper. The problem I get is when I reheat in the oven, usually the day after. My lovely thick sauce goes to water. This hasn't always happened. Does anyone know what causes this to happen.

Love the show.

Regards Lynne Confused
