Are you sure??????

Parking is diabolical, you are guaranteed a ticket. Its mainly a clothes market now, the fruit and veg and other foods has been shoved out by the clothing stalls. If you are going by car then I would not leave it too late as getting back onto the M11 is chaos. Must be a closer market to you that is miles better than whats left of one of Londons premier markets,

My advise anyway. someone is bound to disagree.

Your too kind.

You should dress it as soon as you have killed it.

A its easier and B safer. The white spots are a sign of illness, if it has them then discard the whole rabbit, also check for myxy you dont want to be cooking a rabbit that has myxy trust me.

My fridge is full of rabbits I dress them as soon as possible and freeze what I am not going to use.

If you are taking up shooting Banana then maybe you should check out RC.net loads of help on there but try to be nice.

If anybody can force me out of hiding its the mighty 55%Banana admiting he is at a loss!! Oh there is a god!! Big Grin Big Grin

Simple answer Banana is no it does not need to be hanged though I hope you have dressed and cleaned it ie gutted it making sure the liver is free from white spots and obvious signs of illness.

If you have not done this by now then I would consider throwing it away as ungutted it will make the meat taste funny.

Hope this is of help.

Like everything else on them channels its absolute rubbish, I bought the jack la laine power juicer, granted it its an ok juicer but the cleaning of it is a nightmare.

A freind of mine bought a nu wave oven, within two days he had sent it back as it does not do what them over entuisiastic American presenters claim it does, he followed the instructions for cooking a frozen chicken, it looked lovely and golden brown on the outside and a frozen cave on the inside.

And as for them Titanium 2 Knives dont get me started on them!!!

Must tell you about this brilliant little gadget that the wife got me for crimbo,

Its called Blade-tech and is the best sharpener you WILL ever buy forget your steel you wont need it trust me! and its only 12 quid.
She bought it for my hunting exploits obviously you need a sharp knife but it will sharpen in seconds any knife int the kitchen with the exeptoin of serrated it cant do them! But will put a razor sharp edge on all the others inc cleavers.

Do a search for it I think you just type in Blade-tech. and its also tiny so will fit on a key ring I am well impressed.

After watching Gordon Ramsey rip wannabe chefs to peices I was wondering what if you was head chef in a restaurant and the head waiter storms into the kitchen and tells you Gordon Ramsey is sitting down at one of the tables.

What would you do?

Very good site that, very informative. BUT it has one main drawback...... Games, silly word games possibly penned by some refugees from Off the Menu, I recognise some of the names. Shame because for like minded people its a great site, loads of info on keeping chooks.

Pretty much the same, still takes about two hours to cook. You can use the tops like spinach.

I just dont think its that popular, well not enough for butchers to get it in also it does not feature too heavily on restaurant menus either.

On the legal front I have not got a scooby so can't help you there.
When I was in France I tried it and found it very bland. Sorry.

The John Smiths homebrew turned out a treat something that cannot be said for how I am feeling today.
I was offered in the pub 3 bottles of homemade gooseberry and damson wine something that chemically NASA would have a great interest in(it also kills 99% of all known germs and leaves your intestines spotless) I was about to take them when I looked round to see the whole pub frantically shaking their heads, I decided on the John Smiths instead.

I take it the chicken with two hearts had a Tardis waiting outside?
Never been taken with pate not because of what goes in it just that to me its not very nice, Brussels, chicken liver, Duck just don't like the stuff, and finaly how the hell did you get the little ' over the e in pate?

Well I didn't like it, like I said its got a strange almost uninteresting taste if you can imagine!

Strange when you consider the amount of work a horses muscles do.

Any chance of a section on here for recipes and ideas for wilder foods, such as Rook, Rabbit and wild veg please.

I had a brace of young rooks the other day and not a Scooby as to what to do with them. There is one recipe on here for rook but a poster came up trumps and I used their recipe and it was delicious.
So how about it? A section for natures own larder.

The French Big Mac tastes nothing like it does over here, not that I am casting dispertions!!

Now Karen15 as a country person I have to say that horses are not classed as pets here, so to speak more comodoties or rather investments.
But as a food source lets face it just look at the size of a horse leg, just the one would keep you in protein for weeks.

I once complained about my food from my local chinese when I lived in the smoke.
I said to the girl, excuse me but this chicken is rubbery to which she replied Thank you very much I will let the chef know.

Not entirely true Rosti, the shelf life is uneffected as the giblets are in a sealed bag, this is law. and the reason or one of the reasons you very rarely get a full set is because the giblets are seperated at slaugher mechanically and then placed in bags and put back into the birds so the giblets you get may not be from the bird you have or contain everything you would expect.

Not going well on the chicken front as Thelma and Louse have had a bit of a disagreement over something and now don't seem to be clucking to each other!
On the other hand nugget has given me two double yolker eggs recently which had I known I would have smoked but you can't tell till they are in the frying pan!!

Ok I am at a loss here I cannot think what to do with a brace of Rooks I have gained, I don't want to do a boring Rook Pie or Alan Coxons recipe on this site as I hate cous cous.
So as I am relativley new to this, I would like some help.
Should I treat it as normal poultry and use it in the many chicken recipes I have? Like a curry for instance?
Now as you can only use the breast I would imagine roasting is out of the question.
Any help would be apreciated, a search on the net was unrewarding as the only thing that turned up is Mrs Beasons Rook Pie And Squirrel Tail pie so no help from the net.

Aparently its best to have your chicken coup up high with a ladder as aledgedly foxes hate ladders, but I dont have that luxury. So far I have been lucky and my chicken defences seem to be holding up. I was out lamping the other night when I saw a big dog fox which a bit of a worry but so far he has stayed away.

No banana it does not cook the food just gives it the smoked smell and look.
The venision steaks was fantastic griddled with some pan fried veg.
But what surprised me more was the boiled eggs, never tasted anything quite like them, hard to describe the taste not really eggy anymore..
On the fire risk point the fire is in a hole in the ground the smoke travels up a pipe and into the smoker where it circulates round before escaping through the vents, the smoker by the way is an old wardrobe. It looks a bit ramshackle but it does the job.
