That is the difference between someone who just searched the internet to advise and someone who knows what they are talking about.

Well done.

So what's good for goose is no long good for the gander then? When it was on Great Food Live it was fine, because it is on Market Kitchen it isn't.

I get the idea.

You are being very insulting to the Romany community now.

They are all old fashioned dishes and have also been on many cookery programmes over the years.

Like this one [link] please note it is from Great Food Live

Pigeon, squirrel, rabbit, hare, hedgehog, snake and lizard.

All good sources of meat and when there was nothing else poor people could afford to buy these are what they survived on. This is not new and nothing to do with the upper classes or uppmanship.

I have never heard of it being from beetroot either, it is used a lot in chinese cooking, is very high in sodium and has many health issues connected with it.

Unless a recipe specifically calls for it and salt can't be used as a substitute, I wouldn't use it or recommend it.

You are completely out of order Arther10. You bring shame to yourself and this board. I should also like to know what a catering teacher is and in what capacity they work, and what they teach to whom.

Try mixing some sliced red and yellow peppers, cherry tomatoes, sliced mushrooms, cubed courgettes and any herbs you like. wrap tightly in foil parcels the size of a portion.

You didnt ask for an accompliment to BBQ chicken tickedoff you asked for simple ideas for a BBQ thats why I said it was too general to be serious. i asked if you had looked through the GFL recipes because i thought that was being helpful.

Here lies the problem Desi 1, on one hand you have a knowlegable long time poster who helps and advises on a wide range of food aspects. then you have someone who on there own admission only joined up to complain about the end of GFL and anyone who doesnt agree.

tickedoff your question is too general to be serious have you looked through all the GFL recipes?

There is still a GFL board on this site to post about GFL if you want. There is also a messageboard on Bright Ideas you can go to. Everyone was asked a long time ago to stick to it not post about GFL on MK board, you anti MK have flooded the site for too long and upset too many people. You made your beds by insulting the genuine posts on this site they are now retaliating and if you cant take it you shouldnt have started it.

Strangest thing I ever ate, my ex's curry as his father learned in Madras (where he was born while in the airforce)

Put loads of vegetables in a saucepan with loads of water, chuck in some raw cubes of beef, and some curry powder, boil untill the vegetables are cooked.

serve with rice, and if you really really want to know, I will tell you about my ex and now late mother in laws recipe for "vegetable rice" during the potato famish we had in 1975 - 1976

I have always called it.............. fluorescent rice

"Well my guess is either it's a troll or indeed he/she is from the production company, the post shows the exact arrogance and anger that we have come to expect from the posters who don't dare reveal who they really are."
Your post dustyfrg, look at others. Freddyg? has also said he got it wrong.
You have an identity here but that doesnt say who you really are any more than anyone else. I think I know Maddie from years ago. I dont know you.

How strange that there is so much of this "if they support MK they must be a troll or plant or part of the production company.
How laughable.
"the post shows the exact arrogance and anger that we have come to expect from the posters who don't dare reveal who they really are."
Who are you really dusyfrg?

Look at that post.
They are saying why are you expecting uktv food to read and reply? Why should they? This is a website for us to post on not a direct line to them.
They are saying why are you expecting your demands to be met? You are a minority with loud voices thats all. Stop watching stop posting uktv food wont miss you or your shouting.
Jeni Barnet has gone, there have been much bigger threads and much nastier remarks about her on here in the past.
"How DARE we have opinions! Tsk. Quiet in the back row children!
I mean what's the point of a messageboard if not to give opinions?"
Does pot and kettle mean anything to you?

On a side note I would also like to say that to those who have been flaming Jeni about how she gets on with chefs. You are obviously a "insider" of some sort, and yet the behaviour is beyond contempt, what has or has not happened should NEVER be aired on a public forum. It is unprofessional and beyond contempt, what happens off camera stays off camera!!! All this has done is put a even greater bad taste in the mouth from the total experience.

Oh dear prodigal2 what a load of coswallop! I'm not an insider. I have watched ukfood since about 2004, posted on this site for a few years as well.

Nothing I said in my recent posts is anything that hasnt been said and discussed before, no connection with behind the scenes, no insider information, nothing that hasnt been on the tv and nothing that hasnt been said on this site in the past. Nothing that anyone who read off the menu didnt know. In essence a lot less than was said in the past.

In those days we had a proper set of house rules, not the garbled legal jargon version there is now so there wasn't much need to explain. If you broke the rules you got deleted, Ian would tell you why and you moved on.

I dont know who the higher up chefs are, I saw Alex McKay get quite angry with Jeni one day, and Sophie Grigson often did, Gino did, Paul Hollywood I think was always in fun. Tony Tobin told her to shut up a few times so did Brian Turner. Alistair Little gave up one day as he couldnt get a word in and you could always see Aldo Zilli was frustrated. Silvana Franco was very sweet about not being allowed to talk, Sylvana Rowe used to get upset. Looking back now I can see how many of them were tolorating Jeni rather than working with her.

If being friendly is more fun on here why have you been so agressive? Why do you also swear in every post you make? Can you not read the thread rosti gave the link to and not only see the personal attacks that are still showing and also see that others have been removed? are you really that much in denial.

Another one who hasnt read the link and cant see how many posts have been removed for attacking MK watchers.
How can you all complain about your anti MK posts being removed when you wont admit to how many of them have been removed because they were personal attacks.

You DIDNT read the link rosti gave yesterday then tvfoodie or posts by scottson, jannymac has been called names too, and now you continue your campaign against rosti with taking the pee out of the nickname. negative comments on the right thread are no problem. nasty remarks about the program and other people are not, and no body had the RIGHT to say anything nasty.
