Matt and Diana seem to rib each other all the time but they do it with a smile on their faces. As the week progressed that smile was on Arthurs face, they turned out to be a great threesome.
I think Arthur thouroughly enjoyed his stint with them.

To be honest I owe Arthur an apology. As the week has progressed he has started to laugh with the other presenters, still a bit unwilling to laugh at himself but................
Then it clicked with me, he's a chef, NOT a presenter, and it must be a case of "There but for the grace" would go most of us.
He's gradually won me over except for..............................that pork chop recipe on Thursday Eek
He took a stunning loin pork chop, carefully selected, beautifully provenanced as is Arthurs wont. THEN he cut 80% of it off to make "THE JUS" Eek Eek With the tiny medallian remaining he SLICED it twice to make three pieces resembling bacon medallians, remember he started with a bonny looking BIG pork chop, the recipe ended with three tiny round slices of bacon with accompaniment on the plate. The discarded pork was strained out to just make the jus.
Arthur, you won me over on personality then wasted so much of the valuable meat it was criminal.
That poor little porker died mainly in vain Cry
Anyway........... Embarrassed

AAaaaaaarrrrrgggghhhh, I am a fan of M/K but AP-D. Is he up his own bum or what?
Usually when A presenter introduces the chef of the week we get a "thank you, nice to be here"
Matt Tebbutt said "Welcome to the show" etc and Arthur just said "Yeah" is he auditioning for a Roger Moore tribute?
All this poop about demanding all his supplies come in a eco-friendly vehicle, how very..............very.
Only good thing is, if he is poorly one day you could replace him with a stick.
Rest of it, including Aaron is bazzing.

I think Tana was there to create a buzz when the programme started, she just looks soooooooooooooooooooo bored when she's sitting some segment out.
Oliver has the most ridiculous idea about sourcing within the M25, so does that mean the gear is c#ap but local. I would prefer to source ingredients on quality alone.
Diane has grown massively on me, despite the accent. Tom and Matthew both play their part and are doing really well...........I think so anyway.
The masterclass is a bit superfluous, some donkey from the audience mumbling and putting off the chef "tomatoes? oooohh never had those" Angry
All these listers who detest the show, "I can't bear to watch for mote than ten minutes" SO HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU DON'T LIKE IT?
It's a magazine, you read some bits and skim over others.
Personally I miss air raids and chucking kids up chimneys, s'pose they've gone for good too Develish

I don't know why he's bothering going.
Just let him say it's all poop and do his own version.
Other title could be Gary's Chinese takeover. Blurgh

I found the Indian programme absolutely toe-curling. Blurgh

"Does sensorship not demonstrate that someone is reading the posts and that it's all a one way street. This is my last post"
Missing you already Blurgh
I am not an apologist for M/K but posts like this are just beyond what this forum is for. Of COURSE someone reads the posts and some are deleted, mine included, which are thought of as not suitable. So YOU had the name of the producer, so what? Do you want vigilantes outside their house, outside their office? Scary post, no wonder it was deleted.
Have your say, they DO know what you think. They may not agree with YOU, we can't all agree on the forum so it's not sinister.
We have had GFL chefs on here so EVERYONE knows what we think, NOBODY has xxxxged Tana off more than me, everyone knows what we feel and sometimes it's best to let go, if we all turned off the programme would die. We won't so IT won't. Some of us seem to have been won over to the dark side Develish

Hi guys,

Some of us fought tooth and nail for GFL. It ain't gonna happen, I remember some slating Jen when she was on (we LOVED her) I hated folk like Alex Mac Kay and that Anjum bird.
We are here, you're not saying anything new, summers used to be hotter, days longer, it never rained in the school holidays etc.
Personally I think most of us have warmed to MK, except for Tana.
There are a million other channels, just press the button when MK comes on.

The Ainsley programme filmed in his (supposed) home with Sylvana and a couple of other stylists.
Recently he put the food on some plates that had a ragged edge, as though they were broken.
Any ideas what they are?

Some presenters enhance the show, in fact make you want to watch it and you then see the food on display................Others just make your toes curl so you can't really concentrate on the subject.
Stein, Ching, Kylie, so many good ones I can't see why they use "famous" duck-eggs.

I think even Diana has grown on me.
Who was that herbert the other day who said he had never had a good meal in the UK? what an absolute girls blouse.
MK seems to be going from strength to strength and good luck to it.
I used to like Catweazle on the telly but I don't keep harping on about it MOVE ON Tongue

I have "Rhodes around Britain" a book with a home made pork pie recipe in it. Obviously I cannot post it here.

Sometimes TV exposure is not the boon it promises. Some chefs although brilliant craftsmen (women) do not have such a warm personality, I didn't like JBR just from watching his French prog. It was his show with Angela Hartnett where I thought he came over as a really nice bloke pretending to be a grump.
I wish him well in the future, perhaps he can buy the New Angel back cheap, now it's just an empty "failed" business. HE is the added value.

If he just presented instead of being judge and jury on everything.
I agree, the Indian fiasco was toe curlingly embarrassing.
At least other "proper" presenters take a breath now and then.

The M/K discussion has changed from the old "I don't like it" to the more reasonable "I didn't like that bit".
I personally find Tana a massive turn-off, only there because of her...................you know what I mean. Had she an ounce of personality, or heaven forbid, cooking talent then she would earn her corn.
I find the board quite diverse, Ching, the horrendous Rhodes, all life is here if you want it. AND, if you can't find it, YOU initiate it, what do YOU want to talk about.
M/K is like a magazine, it can't ALL be to your taste just watch the bits you like..........................unless you like Miss Prissy, in which case you're wrong Blurgh

This time the Rhodster has gone TOO far.
It appears he has critisised Nigella.
Look, Nigella can be filmed being sick in a bucket and I would not only watch but tape it.
I would crawl two hundred yards over broken glass just to let her kick me.
If HE was cooking in the garden I would draw the curtains.
Bless you C-de-M

My Magimix 4200 came vitually brand new from a boot sale for ten quid, don't give up, loads of folk stashed 'em away in the cupboard.
Also I've seen 'em on sites like "Freecycle" and in charity shops (Overgate in Hebdon Bridge five days ago) make friends with the staff
They sold loads to gadget freaks who got fed up.
Very best of luck with your search.

With Rick Steins Food Heroes they were ALL winners, all were showcased and praised.
This time I really fail to see how some bloke who goes to a wholesaler can be a F/H, why not choose the wholesaler?
A hotel where people travel hundreds of miles in their car to stay and eat. They pay to stay in a room to enable them to eat the food, hardly accessible OR ecologically friendly.
PLUS some of the heroes go to great lengths to produce great food only to see Rhodes mess about with it and then tell us HIS recipe is lovely AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhh............. Blurgh
The show should be called "GARY RHODES and some insignificant little people".

To be honest, perhaps the programme is not intended for you.
You are able to enjoy authentic Chinese food at home, most are not.
We find the recipes accessible and delicious and have had some success with them, which is not always the case with TV recipes.
Also, what do Brits know about authenticity? Eek
The range of programmes available mean, if you don't like it you can turn over and move on.
Ching's a winner in our house.
