I totally agree with everyones comments i have been thinking the same thing for ages, i am fortunate that i can afford expensive ingredients but i am still mindful that many people with children still at home can't i know for sure that we eat better quality food now than when my sons lived at home. Meat and fish are so expensive and for a lot of families an occasional luxery it seems everything they cook on GFL is expensive, free range this, organic that an average free range chicken would barley feed a family of 4. Well i could go on and on..... Confused

Yes agree soosiepops, don't like the new format at all takes ages to find the recipes, and why does it take so long to put the most recent ones on? They used to seem to almost appear before going out on the show.

Yes what an amazing day i really enjoyed it. I thought Pink Floyd were brilliant i must admit to thinking boring when i heard they were going to reform for the concert but they were pure class. I think they should reform and tour. I thought that Peter Doherty was the low point i am surprised Sir Elton had him on he spoiled his turn . Off to the web site now to sign up.

Kirst2 i can remember my Mother spending hours in the kitchen preparing a buffet in the 60s SmileVol-au-vents filled with mushroom and bacon prawns or chesse, cheese and pineapple on sticks, sausages on sticks, little bridge rolls filled with home cooked ham or egg and cress, the salad was always layered lettuce, egg, toms etc, sausage rolls, pork pie, black pudding ,home made piccalilli, pickled onions, trifle, a sponge cake filled jam and cream if it was a special occasion. I will come back if i think of anything else.

As i pointed out in my previous post she looked terrified she might have to eat something, she was only on to plug her books and dvds etc. Mousee, it seems to me that everyone who is told that they have high cholesterol is told they they are eating something different that is causing it, my doctor put me on statins and after about a month i realised i felt ill, i have stopped taking them and feel much better i drink one of those drinkes each day to try and help, but can something that made me feel so ill really be doing me any good?

People like R. Conley who earn a living out of the diet industry always end up eating virtually nothing what ever they try to tell us, she seemed really uncomfortable at the thought of eating any food. Her whole body language seemed to say please don't make me eat.

Yes Jonathans is still there it is in Oldbury. Torz if you go to the birmingham plus web site it has a list of the Italian restaurants in Birmingham. I would think that just by ordering not meat dishes you would have a good choice.

Well the butcher sold it to me as bacon hock, i cooked it slowly in a casserole with veg and it was tasty. Does any one on here ever buy sweetbreads? I ate them recently in a restaurant and they were tasty but have asked several butchers and the have said no can do.

Eves we had a bronze turkey last year for the first time and it was lovely completely different taste from a white one. Yes i would definitely recommend having one not cheap but well worth the extra.

I wonder has any one else had this problem, the last few packets of spinach that i have purchased from the supermarket has tasted musty. No matter how i cook it and how may times i wash it it still has a musty after taste, last night i cooked it and stirred in some yogurt and nutmeg put the mixture in to a red pepper backed it and it still tasted the same. Roll Eyes
