As someone who is REALLY skint at the moment and has been managing to serve healthy meals at less than £1 per person, I have to say that, having looked at one of your 'thrifty' recipes I can't agree with the title. Four thick cut pork chops costs far more than I am able to afford for one meal. I find that Marie Antoinette's "If they can't afford bread let them eat cake" seems to be the attitude of most people giving so-called cheap or thrifty recipes. They really don't understand what being on a very restricted budget means
