Definitely for me it's Tyler Florence's "Eat This Book"

I have found over a couple years that not one of Tyler Florence’s recipes have failed. I especially enjoy the Greek Lamb Pie, but everything is scrumptuous. The receipes use everyday ingredients and they are uncomplicated yet elegant, and deliciously delicious. Best of all, almost all can be cooked for dinner even if you get home at 6.30PM!

For me it would have to be Claudia Roden's "Arabesque". A beautifully written book not only informs of the cuisine but also of the rich culture of the region. A wonderful read!

Try her chicken with chestnuts!

A second is her ancient early 70's book "A Book of Middle Eastern Food" Gorgeous!

I have quite a few cookbooks, but my favourite by far is the New Covent Garden Book of Soups: New, Old and Odd Recipes.

I spend most Sundays making batches of soup to freeze - I haven't found one I don't like yet! So easy, most of them are really quick, huge variety and super tasty. What more can you ask for! Big Grin

I have just got a book called 'White trash gatherings' by Kendra Bailey Morris, it contains everything you could want to know on how to through your very own american white trash feast, as well as recipes it has some very funny tales from the authors youth, i haven't finished reading it yet but the half i have read is fantastic.

I already feel sorry for my hubby as every time a buy a new cook book i have to try every recipe in it and this book tells you how to cook everything from squirrel through to salads containing marshmallows! I think i may just have to try making buttermilk biscuits! Big Grin Wink Tongue

PS i don't intend to kill any squirrels in my pursuit of culinary fame Big Grin

Two of my favourite books, which are in fact quite similar, are Marco Pierre White's "White Heat" and Gordon Ramsay's "3 Star Chef". Both books give a photographic insight into the daily life of a Michelin starred kitchen followed by the recipes of the restaurants signature dishes. Ok, some of them are quite complicated but with a little time and patience you can create some serious fine dining at home. Well worth a look for anyone into cooking and entertaining.

Im only 19 . . . suprisingly havent got a massive collection of cookbooks! (my mum has got every 'Jamie Oliver cook book going' though!

I think Giorgio Locatelli's 'made in italy' is amazing. It has some quality recipes and also tells some of his story.

Wannabe if you like those two try Heat by Bill Burford and also any of the "of a chef" trilogy by Michael Ruhlman. Brilliantly written and an interesting insite into the chef world!
