I wonder if anyone can recommend a hand held grater ideal for removing zest from citrus fruit, I see all the chefs on TV using them and have brought several myself (I think i have the worlds largest collection of graters now and none of them work Angry ) and none of them seem to work, please help as i seem to be wasting a lot of money on this quest

Have a look in TK Maxx for a 'Trudeau' hand held grater - they do them in fine, medium and course. The fine is ideal for zesting. It's a microplane type grater and they are brilliant - they have been selling them for under a fiver.

Or, Robert Dyas have been selling a 'Clearcut' hand held grater - which again is a microplane look-a-like - around £5 to £6.00.

BTW if you want a microplane try Kitchenaria.com or The Cook's Kitchen.com - who have a free PP offer on this weekend. Quite a bit more expensive though.

Look no further than the microplane graters they are more exspensive than a normal box grater but because the holes are lasered rather than punched it grates the food rather than riping the food. So its a more delicate way and is fantastic for zest. you can get them on www.kitchenercookware.com hope this helps and save u from ur increasing collection of dud graters! Big Grin
