Well I don’t know about any other viewers but I am finding myself switching over more and more frequently. I used to watch this channel religiously, now I can’t watch for very long at all as I’ve seen these programmes far too often. Re-run after re-run.

Please create new programmes for your viewers. You can forget MK – its rubbish. full of ‘toffee nosed’ people claiming to be foodies! Why can’t UKFood create programmes in the style of Delia Smith, Gary Rhodes, James Martin in a studio/kitchen – not in some far flung country retreat cooking ‘seasonal’ food. You are forgetting the majority of us live in big cities. We can’t all go down the local park armed with our BBQ’s and cook!! Come on sort this nonsense out. At least GFL gave viewers the feel that we were all welcome, we had a laugh and learnt new techniques etc.

Come on all the other viewers who feel like me – I’m sure there are loads who feel like me. So come on, lets put the pressure on the channel and lets demand proper programmes before its too late.

I totally agree. Im sick of watching repeats like Masterchef 2006,James Martin, Local hero 2006 etc. Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed these when I watched them the first of even second time but now Im fed up with the channel in general. When I watch GFL it inspired me to cook and watch other food programs for more recipes. Now when I watch Market Kitchen they don't even give you a proper recipe recap UKTVFOOD should realise not everyone has access to the web site!

I totally agree on the points you make I am sick of all the repeats, which like you I enjoyed but get sick of seeing them over and over - I really want Jenni
back - but I must say I enjoy the Barefoot Contessa - and I am very sorry to say but I do watch Market Kitchen and am begining to enjoy it - I do take on board what every one says but there is room for both Market Kitchen and UKTV Food that would solve all problems.

Yes!! Let's scour the earth for some fresh programming, please!!! They can't be very expensive and we can get a break from these same-old, same-old reruns.

I agree the repeats are a bit much, i have seem rick stein so much i think i could quote the programmes, please no more MK, i hasnt worked, please make some new series or show ones we havnt seen for a longer time, not the great british menu, last years masterchef/celebrity masterchef, and although i like delia, no more weekends of delias entire summer collection.

and why repeat the same shows a few hours later, like they are on a loop?

I totally agree with you tattoed_bev I could recite word for word Rick Stein, Jamie Oliver, Delia etc etc. To myway of thinking it is a total con, especially the weekends with .............. whoever, as you say why they dont spend some money and make some new programmes instead of wasting our time.They could make all sorts of interesting programmes, like doing a more in depth programme about local producers, visiting their places of work, how they started etc. What about just finding normal everyday cooks from all walks of life, I sometimes think they would be more interesting anyway. there must be a body of people who decide what to do so WHY DONT THEY DO IT?

i agree totally i think i spend more time with rick stein than his wife !!! anyways dislike market kitchen a lot and tuned in this morning to even see them repeated ! market kitchen diaries isnt it enough its on in the first place never mind a repeat ! i can see me giving up with uktv food which is such a shame as its been such a big part of my life over the last few yrs

Im starting to enjoy the programming more, still wish the barefoot contessa could be shown again soon as i enjoyed those very much.
At least the programming is becoming more varied at the moment during the week at least, with mk diaries which i dont watch, but then nigella, jamie, hugh fw, etc

Im really looking forward to the 2007 local food heroes and maybe a new masterchef too?

also more from Tamasin would be nice, and rachel allan, a wide variety that everyone can pick and choose what to watch, and hurray no gary rhodes at the moment lol

Seriously though, i put tv food on at 9 in the morning and it doesnt go off again until the evening, except when market kitchen was on, so showing programmes on a loop is disappointing, or you end up seeing the same one twice?

I'm afraid Tattoed_Bev you did jinx us and now I have to switch over at 9 to avoid Mr Rhodes in India, I'm sure the programme will be wonderful, but he drives me insane (it's the voice). I don’t understand why there are no new programmes – there are certainly enough talented chefs around….

Im sorry, looks like i did i cannot watch gary rhodes, but madhur jaffrey is also on at the moment, she was in kerala yesterday, i find her much more watchable, and im loving the barefoot contessa, but i didnt see them all first time round, i hope they do another series as i really enjoy the shows, todays low fat yoghuret sorbet looks delicious
