Stopped watching UKTVFOOD when GFL finished - STILL missing it after all this time. It was informative, fun and entertaining. Everything MK is not!
Like everyone else on this site I'm now watching main channels.
Unfortunatley I don't get to listen to Jenny on LBC - shame they don't have 'Listen Again' facility like the BBC, but from her Blog it sounds like she is having fun and chatting with some of her old friends from GFL.
Let's hope she is back on tv again soon, although I doubt it will be on UKTVFOOD...the 'powers that be' probably are not too keen on 'humble pie'!!

i wish GFL would return to our screens,i find market kitchen really boring,JENI was ab fab,bring back the queen of GFL.

I do too, viz. GFL was an iconic programme that is without compare.

This silliness of Market Kitchen is just so old and tired it's pathetic. Probably the worst cooking show ever conceived.

Simply put: MK is rubbish.

I think there are many out there like Mikey and Viz, who used to be loyal and avid UKTVFood viewers that have just been so truned-off by recent progamming decisions they've abandoned the channel. I know it's more or less true for me as well.

My sentiments lie with Viz, I too wish GFL could return to our screens soon.

Someone else asked earlier, too, why couldn't they show repeats of great GFL shows over the holidays rather than wasting their time cobbling up awful snippets from Market Kitchen?? Was there an answer anywhere to this question?

Viz, I think you are referring to a question I posted a while back as to why we can't simply see GFL reruns. Of course there was no response to the question from UKTVFood, even when I sent them an e-mail.

A couple others though did post that they probably didn't want to have an unfavourable comparison of Market Kitchen.

My it sounds so dire in the motherland! Here we still enjoy GFL repeats with lovely Jeni, but also have a wide range of great food shows like Barefoot Contessa, Tyler Florence, Emeril, Floyd-on-everything, Great BBQ cook-off, Hell's Kitchen, Top Chef and many others that keeps us glued to the screen.

True we do have Market Kitchen too but that's not even worth mentioning anymore. A poor excuse for a TV program, that's for certain.

It may be made to sound it by a few, but it's not. We have lots of great shows, I even heard on TV the other day people complaining there are too many cookery shows on again! Oh well, just goes to prove the old saying again. You can't please them all.

I personally can't stand Barefoot Contessa, I turn over as soon as she comes on. (Just as I did GFL in the final year) But I wouldn't bang on about it here as I respect that other people do like her. Matter of taste and choice.

Well thanks for the explanation barsh...I hadn't heard of any reason either for the cancellation. You'd think there would at least be a viable "rumour" but the answer given here by our channel is "it is no longer available from our programming source." Well, duh!! At least they are showing repeats here from what appears to be season 3 (when Jeni had a balcony and they had an audience on Fridays). Ah, the great mysteries of life.
