I agree - no zest. As for the 'feeding' of the cake I find that a tablespoon of liquer each week will suffice - and mine have never become soggy. The only way that will happen is if you have used a very 'floury' recipe. I also alternate which side I feed - top one week, bottom the next and so on.

thanks so much all! I did see the Mellor one but it is the individual pot - I'd really like the 7inch version. But - if all else fails - the individual one it'll have to be! Hug

I have been trying to get hold of one of these for months! Divertimenti sell the mini ones but I'd really like a large one - anyone got any ideas please? Found loads on U.S sites but none will ship to the uk - not even amazon! Help!

Hi
I was going to buy a kitchenaid and asked a chef friend of mine for some advice. He said they are very good but that he uses a kenwood professional range in the kitchen (he works for a large hotel) and The Kenwood Patissier at home. The Patissier has a gorgeous retro design and a 400w motor - more than enough for home use. It is also over half the KA price - so I went for the kenwood. Had it for two years and it still looks like new. None of the labelling has worn off - (and I use it almost contantly) - through 'wiping down' . Also the bowl is like new! I love it and would buy another in a heartbeat. Just thought I'd give you the opportunity to save some cash! (Incidentally - Next Direct have them in for £129 at the moment Smile - and I'm connected to neither next or kenwood!)
Happy Shopping
