Unless you're shopping for a Mini or Smart, you'll have to haggle in car showrooms or you'll pay too much. Do you think it's time manufacturers put a stop to this by quoting their best price up front? Or is it just free-market economics and a fact of modern life? Maybe you're actually pretty good at it and have some top tips for the rest of us?

Howdy y'all. Ouch Chippy! That's a bit harsh! Although I can see how - after we told you that Dallas was taking a break during August - that it was understandably confusing when it was on at the weekends AND with new episodes. To try and make amends, I've outlined the Dallas schedule for August and September here: [link]

Basically, Dallas is taking a break from weekdays during August, but will resume at 11am and 5pm from Monday 3rd Sept. The last weekday episode (before it went on hold) was on Friday 3rd August (Ep 73 The Gathering Storm.) On Monday 3rd Sept, we’ll be picking up with Ep 74 Ewing vs Ewing and onwards as normal. So rest assured, if you've been following the storyline on weekdays and wish to pick it up again in Sept, you won't have missed anything.

We've also been continuing the storyline at weekends during August from ep 74 onwards, but this won't affect the storyline continuing weekdays in September from where we left off on Fri 3rd August.

Hope that makes (some kinda) sense!

Arrghhh! Don't know what to say. The channel wanted to showcase comedy during August daytime. Do appreciate the feedback and have let the channel know about the strong response from you guys. I don't think they'll be moving Dallas back until September though - can you hang on??????

Our panel of ultra picky and opinionated journalists argued long and hard about the top 50. But did they get the shortlist right?

Hello again - I've triple checked that link and it does seem to work for me. But if you're having trouble, click on the "Competitions" link on the left hand side of this page (it's the ninth one down under "In UKTV Gold", just above the message boards link). The prison break comp should be at the top of that page - but only until midnight tonight.

good luck!

Hi there - it's a text link towards the bottom of the Prison Break homepage. There are no issues with it - it's all working fine, although - just to let you know - it closes tomorrow at midnight.

Here's the direct link: [link]

Marketing ploys? If it's a marketing ploy it's the first I've heard!! We thought the vote was a great way to reappraise Doctor Who - obviously a lot of what UKTV is about is classic telly and classic shows like Dr Who. Regarding the choice of stories - as I mentioned in my post yesterday, there were a few restrictions with choosing the eps but we tried our best to showcase all ten doctors as much as poss.

Is it just me or does anyone else find it a bit strange when you watch David Tennant being interviewed and he talks in a Scottish accent? The Doctor isn't Scottish!! Stop it!

Korky - I've put the results up early online - I couldn't wait!

Swisst - sorry you didn't like our ep choices. We tried our best to select eps that are generally regarded as fan favourites and would show each Doctor off in the best light. We also wanted to show eps that would have a fairly broad appeal, although we included things like the 1963 pilot so that there was a mix of rare and recent stuff. Due to time restrictions, we couldn't show some of the storylines in their entirety, and some eps we couldn't get hold of.

Hi all - well the results are in:

It's not going to please everyone (!) One thing I will say though - considering how far back in time some of the original Doctors go, it's heartening to see how well they've done in the poll. It's true that the Ninth and Tenth have the advantage of being the only Doctors a lot of people know, but I think both Eccleston and Tennant have to be handed their dues in giving performances that have clicked with a lot of people and brought the show to a whole new generation. After all, it was never a guarantee that bringing back the show would work - look at the McGann movie.

It's a personal thing as well as a generational thing. I grew up with Tom Baker but I honestly have to say I like Tennant a lot. Eccleston? Great actor. Totally wrong for the part. Maybe that's just me.
