It doesn't matter how great an actress is, no one could ever fill Joan Hickson's shoes as Miss Marple she made the part her own. I never tire of watching her.

You're right, Geraldine McEwan just wasn't right and now Julia McKenzie is taking the role.... i should reserve judgement until i see how she does, but i don't think she's the right one either!

I agree with you both - Geraldine McEwan should have left well alone - she could have been really good - but she spoilt Miss Marples character. No way did she keep on drinking & behave like that - Agatha Christie must be tuning in her grave after seeing that series.
