So comedienne Catherine Tate is to join Tennant in the Tardis for the fourth series of Doctor Who. But will she cut it as a classic companion? High hopes or are you not bovvered?

I must be one of the few people who were excited about the announcement of CT joining the Tardis. I liked Donna in the Runaway Bride and as I've never seen her tv show, she comes to me with a clean slate- so to speak. I'm hoping for a companion who doesn't simper over the Doctor so who knows, she might turn into a 'classic companion'. I'm looking forward to seeing her and Martha in the Tardis!

Actually, that's probably a good thing (in a way) that you haven't seen her tv show. She's a great actress in her own right - I think - but when you've seen a comedian display such a great talent for a range of different characters, it's sometimes harder to accept them as a single character. Or am I talking out my Tardis???!!

I liked Catherine Tate in The Runaway Bride, the only thing i've seen her in before was Big Train. Obviously i had seen trailers for her show but decided it wasn't for me and didn't watch it, so i was a bit unsure of her role in Dr Who, but i thought she was good and it did make a nice change not to have someone going all googly eyes at the Doctor all time!

I think they won't be able to keep a straight face when Catherine Tate is on the show with David Tennant. I can't keep a straight face when I watch her on her own show. She has some of the best modern day catchphrases that we all say sometime or another. It is a programme that will be watched with anticipation just to see if she will use any of her catchphrases on it . Good luck to her in her second tv debut on DR WHO!

I'm not sure if im looking forward to catherine tate being a permanent fixture in the tardis but hopefully i will be proved wrong again, because i wasnt sure about david when he first took over, but that was soon put right in his first episode!!!

i can't wait for the new series to start donna is back, so is martha and so is rose. x-mas
i have also heard that the doctor is going to regenerate at x-mas, mickey dies and rose joins torchwood.
