I'd like to know that music that was featured in the Rockies episode, plus I'd also like to know:

- the music featured at the end of the tropical island episode, when he leaves

- the music in the antarctic episode, when he lights the fire

Oh btw, if anyone wants to know the theme music for 'Extreme Survival', it's Lamb - Five.

Cant help with the Antarctic one but the tropical island is Dario G - Voices. Theres another mellow track they keep using too - not sure if its in a Ray Mears thing but its on nearly every outdoor program on tv called Sigur Ros - Hoppipola. Hope that helps.

Back to the "Rockies" episode, does anyone know the music used just after he has tortured that bloke in the fridge for an hour and a half? It is used when he is making the squirrel squashing machine, and again when he is "hobo fishing". The double bass features prominently in the piece, and any help would be well appreciated.

Props to Mears though. If there is a greater living Englishman, I havent seen him.

Slightly deviating from Extreme Survival, I'm looking for the intro theme to 'World Of Survival'. The credits state the theme is by 'Dreamcatcher', but I don't know the name of the track itself. Anyone have any ideas?

I've got a piece of music that's got me scratching my head.

Bushcraft, series 1 programme 1 - Aboriginal Britain.

Does anyone know what the beautiful piece of music is that is playing while he's fishing for flounders on the Thames?

Cheers,

Michael.

As if we don't have enough requests, I'd like to add one more to this: In the Bushcraft episode about Arnhemland (Australia), there's a really funky style aoriginal assie diggery-doo piece, any ideas anyone?

Ah, I can help here. The didgeridoo music is by a guy called Dr. Didg and the tune is (actually one of my favourites) called Baka from the album of the same name by a group called Outback (early Dr. Didg stuff).

Interestingly, you might notice that the didge he's playing can make two notes! He invented a new type of didge that uses valves to change the pitch! Another link: [link]

In return for this *mountain* of information, I am also interested in the theme tune of the "World Of Survival" series. Anyone got any solid ideas?

Give that man a medal! Thanks for that info Rafoo, of all the tunes I probably wanted to know that one most of all. Can't thank you enough! Big Grin

In return, I am more then happy to tell you that the 'World Of Survival' theme is done by a guy called David Lowe, he's a composer who does a lot of music for TV shows. Check out his website, davidlowe.co.uk, go to the 'Highlights' section and click under 1997, and you'll be able to listen to the tune. I couldn't find a way to download it so I just recorded it and keep it as an MP3. He also remixed the theme for this years 'Wild Food' programme.

In the episode where Ray visits Siberia in the World of Survival program does anyone know the music that is played at the beginning? I've been looking all over to try and find the answer but I have had no luck so far.

Hi all
Hopefully you can help me! At the end of Ray Mears' Extreme Survival episode 'Geronimo' there is a piece of piano-classical music. Does anyone know what it is please? Since seeing the show back in Nov '06 I haven't been able to forget or find it!
Many thanks,
Tom

The Geronimo episode was on again on Sunday and it has driven me mad ever since. I know it's a piano version of an old dance track. My obsession led me to email the production company and the Ray Mears website, both to no avail. Does anyone know what that track is?!!!

Hello again
It seems people are feeling the same way as I do about this Geronimo music! I have an idea: if anyone has a DVD or other recording of this episode, turn the TV up loud and point your mobile phone at it after calling Shazam (2580) and hopefully they'll text you the name of the music. I've done this for other TV music and it's worked. I'll try and find the episode somewhere and try this out, if I'm successful I'll post it here. Please do the same if you're successful!

I have finally found it! The music at the end of the 'Geronimo' episode is a version of a trance classic, entitled 'Close Cover' artist; 'Minimalistix'
