He’ll be discussing his new one-off show for UKTV Documentary “Sir David Attenborough explores…Our Fragile World” which highlights the plight of animals and their environment in the UK due to global warming.
You can watch the programme on UKTV Documentary on Sunday 2nd September at 8pm. Then join Sir David for the live webchat.
Or why not send in your question about global warming now - and we'll do our best to make sure he answers it. Just log in below and post your question here.

I heard you say once that global warming didn't really matter to you, but in the last couple of years you have changed your mind, what brought this about.
Chris Clode(Northfleet)
You must regularly meet people who do not accept the IPCC scientists' views on climate change, many of whom must object strongly to your stance as well. What do you say to them? Do you try to argue your case? If so, how often do you win them over?
Hi, I just wondered why this programme is on this channel rather than on a regular BBC channel where it would get wider coverage.
Hi David, Why do continue to support the man made global warming theory when the 'science' gets shakier by the day? I see it's just been accepted that 1998 wasn't the warmest year on record, due to a fundamental calculation error. The revised year is 1934.
Are you aware that official figures show a slight global COOLING from 1998 to date, and that 95% of greenhouse gas is water vapour? Man made carbon dioxide is minuscule by comparison.
Conclusive proof is on the way, in the next few years, to finally kill the theory stone dead. Do you know what that proof is?
Dear Sir David, I have been a great fan of yours for many years and you have inspired me to take a greater interest in our planet, which I have tried to pass on to my children and now my nephews and nieces. My favorite footage is of you with the gorrillas but I wonder which is your most memerable experience?
Hi Sir David,
As you have travelled to the four corners of the earth, which is your favourite place that you have ever visited and why?
I believe that if I could live anybody elses life it would be yours! What a privilege to see the many beautiful sights, sounds and creatures of our world!

0 emissions are a reality and is achievable today.
How would you feel if Global Warming was allowed to continue with the British Government ignoring data that could make the UK self-sustainable for all our energy needs from our own emissions.
Dear Sir David,
I am about to start training as a secondary science teacher. What is the single most important thing I should teach my students about climate change and what we humans can do about it?
Thank you!
Having watched a lot of your documentaries, I am always left in awe of what you have done and seen,
Do you think it is the science of nature that makes you enjoy it or is it more from the heart,
Do you think you will undertake any more monumental voyages of discovery that will capture our hearts and minds before it really is to late to look around at see what's missing,
I have always been inspired by your work since getting 'The Life of Birds' for Christmas aged four. When I am older, I want to be a conservationist, after watching each of your documentaries intently. One day I hope to see some of the sights you have seen, and visit some of the wildest places on earth.
-But at the moment, there is little I can actively do as a 14 year old living at home, and still at school. There aren't many rainforests near where I live! How could I get involved in conservation? Were you always interested in nature as a child?
-Lucy Moore, aged 14, in Carlisle.
I’m seventeen now, but from being a toddler your documentaries have probably been the most exciting things I’ve watched, and have never failed in amazing me with every aspect of nature. There are thousands of questions I could ask you, but I’d hate to be annoying! So, on the topic of global warming…
Do you think that the universal awareness of global warming which is now being pressed upon us all so strongly by our countries leaders has come too late for us to make any real impact on the over all damage of our Earth?
Thank you,
Claire <3
Hey david, you've done many programs ranging from blue planet to life in the undergrowth but out of all of these which one did you find most fun and exciting?
Oh and off topic but are you doing a book signing sometime in the near future, if so where?
thanks dan
Dear Sir David
Global warming was quickened due to human activity. Now the human race is trying to create strange ways in order to help the planet. One exmaple of this is the Doomsday seed bank being made by Norway in an Arctic mountain to preserve a seed of each crop in order to protect them from extinction.
Do you think ideas like these can really work and make a difference or are these a move in a wrong direction. Should we be trying to prevent extinction of species rather than finding a solution if the worse should happen.
Thank you
Sir David,
I am 16 years of age and I am experienced in the identification, the lives and history of many Birds, insects and all the other wildlife and would like to thank you for giving me an all new light to look into, which is the natural world and how it came to be.
My dream would be to meet you in real life and chat face to face but because it is not to be I will only ask you one question.
You have seen the many spectacles that the natural world has to offer but, is there something you have not witnessed and would like to, or someting you would have liked to go into.
Well done for the many acheivements,
Many thanks Carl
But the fact that climate change is on our hands is a dreadful event and something that must be done, but most probably will not change anything, is a great shame as there is many animals and plants that will become extinct.
What do you think about the government's decisions on acting to combat against it?
Many thanks and if you could reply to the last message I will be very grateful.
Carl
of all the animals you have seen whilst making natural history programs which are you most fearful will become extinct duo to climate change and human intervention?

Do you think that traveling by plane is justified if you are traveling to explore wildlife or do conservation work?
Dear Sir David,
Have you taken into account other scientific theories about the rise in CO2 such as fluctuations in our orbit around the Sun? According to astronomers, we have just passed through a period of a few hundred years where we have been closer to the Sun. This period is said to have warmed the oceans, albeit at a very slow rate, so even though this close proximity to the Sun has ended, the oceans have only just finished warming up. Warmer oceans mean calcium carbonate is decayed into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide faster, meaning that more CO2 escapes from the oceans, thus increasing its prevalence in the atmosphere.
Hi, What, in your opinion, is the biggest single cause of global warming?
Also will you be doing any talks/ signings/ appearences in Staffordshire in the near future as I would consider it a huge privelidge to shake the hand of the man who has seen and done more than any other human.
Cheers
Pel.
our planet is changing and always will be climate change is and always will be a part of this as we evolve. is this really a problem? there will always be species that will survive and the food chain is not set in stone! after all were not meant to be here for ever... were not meant to be here at all.
Sir David,
I just want to say how much I have enjoyed all your programmes over the years. I love travelling and am fortunate to have family in both British Columbia and Argentina which facilitates visits to both these locations and two years ago a visit to Alaska for the first time where I saw the incredible rate at which the glaciers up there are melting away. I compared photos I took with those taken about 10 years ago and the difference is very depressing. This year, I visited the Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina - one of the few glaciers in the world still advancing and it was a very rare and aweinspiring sight.
Thank you for all your wonderful programmes which I watch in total fascination including the programme a couple of days ago on the 100 years of filming wildlife which showed some of your very latest macro techniques....amazing!!
Keep it up - I would love to meet you someday.
Sandy, Galway, Ireland
dear sir david
firstly i would like to thank you because when i was young i used to sit in front of the tv and glue myself to it watching many animals programmes of which mainly yourself and steve irwin who sadly passed away not so long ago. but from the first time i saw you it was my dream to be like you and do something for our environment , im fourteen now and still have that dream so thank you , i now have a strong passion for wildlife and our environment .
secondly i would like to ask you who sparked your fascination for animals and how difficult was it to get to where you are today .
thank you , your an inspiration .

Hi,
umm, I'm an art student and for this years project I'd like to base my work entirely on nature and the fragility of our ecosystem, and you've given me so much to think about and tie into it that I'm clueless on how to create something as awe-inspiring as your own work! (But i'll try)
So thanks again for showing me the world, and hopefully i'll be able to travel like you have soon enough.
You should really come to Belfast, it's really not all that exciting, but hey! I'm sure you'd find something...
